NEC to Release End-to-end WiMAX Solution PasoWings

Following various trials conducted in Taiwan, Japan, and other countries in 2007, Japanese NEC recently released its first Mobile WiMAX solution PasoWings, which had won the accreditation of ITU (International Telecommunication Union) and IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers).

PasoWings offers end-to-end solutions, comprising CPE (Customer-Premises Equipment), wireless access products, and application servers. The first shipment is expected to begin in December 2007, with the network rollout scheduled for early 2008.
